  • What is the difference between SPEC and NON-SPEC?

Product designated as SPEC has meet certain proportions in the pug mill which blends all th aggregates. This meets the MANARC specification. Has been blended to meet the exact specification ..screen and blended. It has met a certain crushing resistance for that particular product.

Non Spec has just been passed through a screen but not through a pug mill. Not specifically blended. AP product means 'All passing'.

  • What is 'loose volume' ?

As an example say coverage area is 100m2 and customer needs to install 150mm of compacted base course then a 15m3 solid/compacted to an engineered  standard would be needed.

All aggregates are bought loose “truck measure” delivered. Depending upon specific aggregate and use, volume is lost as all the loose particles of aggregate are compacted. For roading aggregates Gap65 & 40 the generally accepted loose-to-solid ratio is 1.4-1.0. Ie 1.4m3 is required as a minimum to achieve a 1m3 solid (installed in place with heavy compaction equipment)measure. 

So in case of 100m2 at a spread/compacted in place thickness of 150mm you would need to order 15m3 x 1.4=21m3.

Generally the maximum accepted compaction factor is 1.4 loose to 1M solid if compacting with heavy compaction equipment.

The rule of thumb is to multiply your calculated volume simple by 1.4 to give you 'loose truck delivered' volume. Please talk with our Sales Assistance if you require help to determine you final order.

  • What is the origin of your products?

  • How easy is it to establish account facilities with your company?

Very easy after going through an account application completion process. Usually we ask for trade references from businesses that provide references. We will ask for personal guarantees where applicable.

  • What is the normal turnaround time after placing and paying for an order?

Normally allow one to two days but often we can do on the same day. It depends on how many customers are ahead of your order. At the time of making your order we will notify you the time of delivery. It's our goal to deliver as quickly as possible following receipt and payment of your order. FIFO
